What is Beck.ai?

Your Crypto Asset Tracker

As with any market, in the case of the Cryptocurrency space, almost all investors are searching for the best possible way to predict the future price movements of certain assets. In the case of Beck.ai, they claim they have already created a tool for exactly this purpose. If you take a quick look at their main page, a short explanation of this can be found under the headline, “our solutions.” In essence, a simplified understanding of Beck’s offering is that they claim to have what is called “a narrow AI” that has the overarching purpose of being able to predict price changes in several Cryptocurrencies, including several Altcoins, which are not mentioned on the main page.

Because it is mentioned that their AI operates in the cloud, then it can be concluded that the niche that they are operating in, is actually cloud robotics, as we have mentioned in our pieces on SingularityNET. More specifically, the fact that their primary product operates in the cloud relates directly to how it is meant to operate. Essentially, the primary feature of Beck’s AI is that it sends out certain signals to all users who have their mobile phones connected to the service. This means each user gets specific notifications when Beck determines that it has detected a likely movement in one of the currencies that you have in your portfolio. Going back to what it is at its core, a narrow AI may be defined as the type of AI systems that we have now. By definition, this means that if an AI system is defined as a narrow AI, then it is adept at performing one particular task. In the case of Beck, this would be predicting the price movements of cryptocurrencies, at least in theory.

For some of you, this may be a review, but in knowing this, we then know that we have not achieved any type of intelligence beyond narrow AI yet. With this in mind, one can logically draw into question Beck’s characterization of its AI as “narrow,” as if being one makes the system unique in some way. Whatever their motivation was in doing so, the primary trouble with anything related to Beck.ai is that it is very difficult to find any outside press on the firm online. They do have a slightly active Twitter account, though at this time, they have not responded to a request for further information on their solution.

In the near future, look for further pieces as our queries are answered, which includes examining exactly why Beck brands itself as a company that provides “ethical AI solutions.”
